Homework Hope

New Beginnings

 I have just started a Self-Reliance class about emotional resilience.  I am excited to learn from the experiences of others and how to implement gospel principles into my actions.  One of the commitments we were asked to do was list one thing we are grateful for each day.  When this invitation was given I thought of this gratitude journal, and decided it would be the perfect place to record my grateful thoughts.  

1.  I am grateful for inspired classes to help me become better.

2.  I am grateful for a family who loves me and supports me during anxious times.

Self-Reliance and Songs

I am grateful for:
1.  My self reliance class about starting education in the home.  It has given me some great ideas, now I just need to implement them.

2.  Children that sing.  I love hearing popular, primary, and pretend songs coming from my children.

It's hard

It has been hard to write two things each day, not because it is hard to find things to be grateful for , but because I am not on the computer, and simply forget.
So today I am grateful for:
1.  Faith in God program.  I love being surrounded by young people who are full of excitement.
2.  Material.  I have so much of it and since we are looking to move I am sewing and sewing and enjoying it.

Sunday

I ma grateful for Sundays!  Why?
1.  I usually take a nap.
2.  I am able to fill my spiritual bucket for the week.
3.  My kids go to primary or YM and I get some time to learn on my own.
4.  I partake of the sacrament.

Flights and Book of Mormon

I am grateful for...

Having flights to the US.  It means the vacation is one step closer.

The Book of Mormon, Faith in God was today and we learned about the Book of Mormon.

Primary Program

I am grateful for boys who did an amazing job at singing The Priesthood is Restored.  They were perfect.
I am grateful for a little boy who was the cutest part spoken in the programme.  He was the only one u see 7 who was willing to say his part and he was great.
I am thankful for a daughter who sang with me. She was excellent.

General Conference

I am grateful for Conference.
This conference season I made a few new goals,
1.  Have a meaningful prepared FHE
2.  Family Scripture suds daily
3.  Take care of my body ie. weight loss :)

Catch up

As you can see it has been a long time since I have posted.  Why??  Mainly because when I think about it I don't want to.  Now that is not a very good reason, but an honest one.  The past few months I have had a lot to be grateful for.
1.  I am grateful for family.  Hyrum had his first birthday and is healthy and happy.  Kyle and I celebrated our 8th anniversary!!  Zachary finished Kindergarten.  He did wonderfully and learned so much.  On his tests he scored in the 98th percentile for math and the 92nd for reading. Eric finished preschool and is excited to move on to Kindergarten next year.  I have planned a school for the summer, which I am excited about.  Wendy moved into a big girl bed, and talks up a storm.  She is also quick to say thank-you.  We went on a family trip to Hawaii.
2.  I am also grateful for the plan of salvation.  The past few months have been difficult in some ways.  My Grandma Haroldsen passed away.  She was a wonderful example.  I am grateful for her life and the example of Grandpa caring for and loving her through illness.
3.  I am also grateful for peace.  I started having anxiety attacks and always being worried.  It has definitely affected the way I live. I am currently on medication, which I am thankful for, but I don't know if it is really working.  I am often tired (exhausted) and take naps during the day (at least I can).  I also don't have much of an appetite, especially in the morning (I have lost 15 lbs).  I have had to call on Kyle multiple times (he is willing to stay home and is worthy to give me blessings).  As you can see even in trial there are many blessings, I need to take the time to write them down.  So I recommit to using this blog as a way to remember all that the Lord has blessed me with.

Sabbath Day

I am grateful for:
1.  Kyle allowing me to take a nap each Sunday.
2.  Feeling the Spirit at church.
3.  Having sisters willing to watch Hyrum while Kyle and I are teaching.

1.  Beautiful weather for Playgroup today
2.  Having the opportunity to do a little fellow shipping with Cynthia and Joanna
3.  Having a little girl who is not afraid to tell people she is "pretty" or tell me when I am "pretty"

Content

I am grateful for
1.  Being part of a new relief society presidency
2.  Smiles and laughs from all my kids
3.  Moments when I just burst with love

General Conference

I am grateful for General Conference.
1.  I am amazed at how much I need to hear each talk.
2.  I am grateful for a living prophet and apostles.

New Calling

I am grateful for a new calling, RS 2nd Counselor.  I am grateful to still be among amazing women.  I am grateful to be able to serve with Meghan North the new president.  I am grateful for a testimony of the true church on the earth.

The V's = Volunteering and Visiting Teaching

I am grateful for
1.  The opportunity to read to Zachary's class.
2.  Visiting Teaching, particularly Ashley Asay and her devotion to the gospel.

Tender Mercies

Tender Mercies received in the past few days
1.  A neighbor, Carla Hayes, willing to pick up Zachary from school.
2.  Kyle not having to work quite as much.
3.  Catching Mandy at home, or coming home.
4.  the kids keeping the house semi-clean.
5.  Hyrum getting back to his sleeping through the night schedule.

Love

I am grateful for a husband who loves me regardless of my ability to put my foot in my mouth.
I am grateful for a ward that loves me even with my insecurities and failings.
I am grateful for children who love and forgive me, often.
I'm grateful for LOVE.

Temple

I am grateful for the temple.  The wonderful feeling I experience when there, the eternal perspective it helps me recall, and the covenants and promises that I remember.  I am also grateful for the sealing power found there.

Preisthood

I am grateful for the power of the preisthood.
